What a great night. As I am physically handicapped I did the StarWalk in my electric wheelchair, along with my family and friends. The rain did not dampen our spirits the atmosphere was tremendous. Thanks go to the people who stood outside their houses and the pubs cheering us on. The consideration of Taxi Drivers was second to none, but the highlight of the walk for most of us, was the great blue light from our glow sticks encircling Kendal Green. It was fantastic. Our thanks also to the St John’s Ambulance and the many Marshals who stood along the route in the cold and wet. But the greatest thanks of all go to the organisers and helpers at the Leisure Centre who spent many hours preparing and tiding up afterwards, including all those who prepared the bacon baps, which were most acceptable. Here’s to next year.
